Air end vs. compressor stage Thank you so much for your reply. From the drawing I am able to see that the Verdichterstufe is located within the compressor. It is unclear so if it is a pipe and therby the area of compressor stage or if it is a device/component. I believe it is a component and also came up with compressor stage and air end. I never heard of an air end but I think compressor stage is a stage/mode to be in - thus, i am confused. I also refered to these websites but some are bad translation, meaning the company is german and the website was translated....

Depending on your translation, it could be either. When referring to the stage, it would be compressor stage: see website of Bauer Compressors (http://www.bauer-compresseurs.com/en/produkte/schraubenkompr... if you need the name of the component, it's air end or airend.
