Deutsch term
anf. KoSt.
Deutsch > Englisch
Wirtschaft/Finanzwesen
Medizin: Gesundheitswesen
pathology, oncology
The following appears in a pathology assessment report:
Material: Leberbiopsie
Eingang am: 23.06.2010
Ausgang am: 24.06.2010
Anf. KoSt.: 9230629
What does Anf. KoSt. mean here? I assume it's something like "anforderde ...", but am drawing a blank on what ... might be.
The target dialect is US English.

requesting cost centre
From combined Google and LEO research that I have done, I think KoSt might stand for Kostenstelle, while the "Anf." stands for "anfordernde", as you supposed, so it's "requesting cost centre" or something along those lines.
