I don’t set business objectives for myself. Future is so uncertain in so many ways that I just take one day at a time. My motto is stay positive, work hard...

More or less. May 13, 2022

During the years I established a precise definition of what a "translation hour" is, expressed in money. Based on that defintion I try to work 47 hours a week, which means 10 hours a day from Monday to Thursday, and 7 hours on Friday. My weekends are (apart from rare exceptions) fully mine. The last 2 years I was, on a yearly basis, close to that goal.

I suppose that's kind of a business objective.

I would, if it were necessary, I would even do some marketing.

However, until now things just seem to work out without such efforts, just with the help of my ProZ.com profile and my website.

Of course, I consider my income in relation to anticipated expenses and adjust my work to that.

I used to... May 13, 2022

When I started my freelancer career I set specific business objectives. In the course of the years (business) life taught me not to waste my time on working out any such objectives. Even the best objectives won't work if the other necessary parties involved don't play along. Sometimes one objective failed completely, while another excelled even my wildest dreams. A lesson taught, a lesson learned.

My objective is and has always been simply to earn enough to provide for myself, and to enjoy earning it.
Up to now, mission accomplished.

4. In connection with that goal, I wanted at least one of them was to credit me by name on the cover. To meet that goal, I accepted to do a long book for the munificent sum of $400 plus royalties. I couldn't have done it without a full-time job. I would get up at 4:00 every morning to work on the book.
