You must log in before you can access most features of this event.

Schedule:This session ended at 11:15
Description:

During this one-hour presentation, you will learn how to "master the basics“ of memoQ: you will be able to create projects, manage your translation memories and term bases, understand the translation results offered by memoQ, and work with documents received from other translation tools.

This training will be a good place to start in order to understand the logic behind memoQ and prepare for the more advanced topics offered during the Virtual memoQ Day.

The presenter will answer questions via TEXT on this page from 10:45 GMT - 11:15 GMT. Submit questions on this page.

What's up with the (lack of) quality of both the online feed & the archived version of the session? May 31, 2012

My cooperation partner was trying to watch the live feed of this session earlier, while I was trying to view the archived version of this session a bit later, but the quality of the video feed (even at full screen) is so bad that it is virtually useless since watching it forces the eyes to compensate in vain for the apparent fuzziness that the brain mistakes for the eyes being out of focus. As a result, this is causing us actual headaches.

Playback quality and streaming quality Jun 7, 2012

The live streams were a bit fuzzy as we attempted to make the stream suitable for all viewers, including those in low bandwidth regions.

The on-demand videos at the bottom of all sessions are in high quality and playback in HD quality. I just confirmed by watching memoQ 6.0 at http://www.proz.com/virtual-conferences/353/program/6838 and the playback, even at full screen is crisp and clear. Viewers in low bandwidth regions may need to pause the video playback to allow the player to download and buffer more of the content before resuming playback.

In reviewing the attendee data, the majority of ProZ.com virtual event viewers are in locations with high speed internet bandwidth. Future virtual events will stream live in HD quality. This will mean that the live streams will be MUCH clearer - but it will increase the bandwidth needs on the viewers side. This will increase the likelihood of viewers in low/medium bandwidth regions experiencing stuttering or cutting in and out of audio/video. If viewers are experiencing stuttering or cutting of audio that is an indication that the bandwidth in their location is insufficient to watch the HD stream and they should instead watch the session via the low bandwidth playback option at the bottom of session pages during live broadcasts.

Regards,

Drew
