Deutsch > Englisch Medizin Medizin (allgemein)
it's in a medical report. might be something about tumors

Discussion

Example 2: Axiales Doppelecho T2- und PD-gewichtet, coronare T1 nativ.

T2-weighted, T2 relaxation time, T2 mode

T2 is one of the two modes (the other is T1) in magnetic resonance imaging. You can use any of the above terms, they are all acceptable in medspeak.

....significance...

I would appreciate to read the whole sentence, please. Otherwise it's more guesswork.

weighting

honestly, just a guess, it should really be "Gewichtung", but maybe they say this differently in the medical sector.

staging

just a guess, but the severity of the cancer is assessed using this term

Weighting

See example below

A "dose model" was developed and applied in this study considering the cumulative effect of
single-task exposures by superproportional WEIGHTING of the compressive force in relation to
the respective duration of a situation.

Zur Beschreibung der kumulierenden Wirkung von Einzelbelastungen wurde ein "Dosisverfahren" mit überproportionaler WICHTUNG der Bandscheibenkompression relativ zur Einwirkungsdauer entwickelt und angewendet.

--density (MRI (proton-density))

when you compare german and english pages I saw they do not use density / in all however it seems "density " of bone (not chemical density)

resonance

This is about MRI (nuclear magnetic resonance) and they are picking up T2-
a metastasis to the chest (T means thorax) and the resonance signal at this point is strong due to proton density.

could also say resonance density to incorporate the word Wichtung
Peer comment(s):

disagree Dietrich Herrmann, MD, PhD, MBA : T2 in the context of MRI has nothing to do with rthorax or TNM staging but with particular properties of the electron spin relaxation. The two modes oare T1 and T2, the latter e.g. suppresses fatty tissue in the images.

thanks, that is interesting to know, got caught out because it looked like staging, thanks for the info, I must read up about it
