English term
U.S. public charity
English to German
Law/Patents
Government / Politics
Hi everyone,
Context: This "public charity" is a US foundation that promotes HIV/AIDS prevention education.
I'm not sure how "public charity" (referring to the US system) should be translated into German.
I really don't think a literal translation would be correct in this case. According to thefreedictionary.com, a public charity is "a charity that is deemed to receive the major part of its support from the public (rather than from a small group of individuals)".
Is there a German equivalent?
Thanks a lot!
Annika

Public Charity
