Hi
I am trying to record a CD with songs that can cheer me up so I was wondering: What is the song/songs that put smile on you face.
For me: Blue Moon (B. Holliday), Smiley Faces (Gnarls Barkley, Lady is a Tramp (Sinatra)...
Harry Nilsson's music. Not one tune or another but the whole record.
"The Point" is the story about being different (round-headed in a pointed world), that reminds me of another famous one, "Le Petit Prince". Both of them make me smile and warm my heart.
Listen to that, Amra, it might be part of your CD!

"Shiny Happy People" (R.E.M.)
"Girls Just Want to Have Fun" (Cindy Lauper)
"The Year of the Cat" (Al Stewart)
This is just for fun, not to be included in the CD:
"Pop, Goes My Heart" (this is the video starring a goofy Hugh Grant, from the movie "Music and Lyrics" with Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. It cracks me up because it's a fake 80s video but it represents a typical cheesy boy-band video of the 80s).
Take a look here and tell me if Hugh ... See more "Shiny Happy People" (R.E.M.)

I'd include It's raining man by The Weather Girls. It's virtually impossible not to smile when you hear this song. Most of the time we start dancing too.
Regards,
Gerard | |

If you like Goran Bregovic's music, you will certainly like Sandu Ciorba as well. Beautiful, funny music that will make you translate fast.
For example:

Unluckily my favourite song from him is not in youtube, it is called "Nu te las".
I forgot this one, another song that always puts me on good mood: Loituma ... See more If you like Goran Bregovic's music, you will certainly like Sandu Ciorba as well. Beautiful, funny music that will make you translate fast.

Specifically the Ella Logan version from the 1930s or 1940s. It's as cheerful a recording as I can think of.
I also love Amaral's "El universo sobre mí" despite lyrics that are slightly gloomy at spots. It always leaves me smiling.
