Or middle classes. Bougeoisie is sort of out of date, but might be the right choice, depending on the register you're looking for.

You should be aware of the following points:
1) \"bourgeoisie\" definitely has Marxist connotations (aristocracy / bourgeoisie / proletariat).
2) \"middle class\" doesn\'t correspond very well. Ninety 90% of the population is at least \"middle class\" in the US, for example, but \"bourgeoisie\" is more like \"upper middle class\" (business owners, top corporate officers, etc.)
