I'm rather confused by the word "Akzeptanz" in this connection - "acceptance" doesn't seem to fit here or am I just making a mountain out of a molehill!!??
I'm translation specifications for the testing the "ESD Festigkeit" of radio/ navigation devices in cars.
There is a list of voltages and what interference/ faults can occur in various functional states.
"Die Höhe der Spannungen in der Liste ist gewählt worden, weil ein Kunde spürt, wenn eine Entladung oberhalb von 8 kV stattfindet.
Daher ist eine Akzeptanz, das „etwas passiert“ durchaus vorhanden."
TIA

commonly accepted, a general understanding,
The buyer *knows and accepts* something's happening beyond 8 kV (which he may not have perceived at lower voltages). There's an s missing in the das, btw.

assumption
from the context here I would think this is the sense of the word: that's why the assumption that something might happen is correct
31 Min.
perception
I'd understand it more as in "Wahrnehmung" = perception. Akzeptanz really doesn't fit.
