Discussion

Non-ProZ.com May 11, 2004:
I'll wait a bit for clarification "Raumgngiger Horizontalsorter" is a headline so I've used "versatile" for now, to keep it short. The equipment is not mobile, but it is modular so it can be assembled to fit awkward spaces. Thanks for all the helpful proposals.

(optimally) utilising available space OR (highly) adaptable to existing/available space

Designed for optimum space utilisation, the new horizontal sorter...

I'm still not sure although I've found "Raumgängigkeit" (strange word, BTW) in the following two (the only!) sources:
http://www.kannegiesser.de/technischedaten0.html
http://www.reiniger-und-waescher.de/112751.html

Otherwise, http://www.interroll.de/?wm=m(701)sp(-1,5,625) may come in handy (trilingual EN/DE/FR site).

Pls wait for informed comments.

agree Ursula Peter-Czichi : Indeed, a strange word invention. You are probably right with your interpretation, but I would still ask the author.

Yes, asking the author or customer would be the safest bet here.

compact

The sorter has a compact design ...

If räumgängig means something along the lines of space-saving, then you could maybe use something like "compact" to get the general idea across.

spatially mobile

Admittedly this almost the same as Ruxi's suggestion; in part I'm just curious konw the conclusion. On first blush this sounds like a rather silly qualification (without spatial mobility the sorter couldn't do what it's intended to do), but aside from the PR factor, perhaps what is meant is that the sorter can move around (or be relocated), which would make it more versatile than a 'stationary' sorter.

I wait with bated breath...
