I'm translating a short description of a digital printer. A similar description of the same printer can be found here:
http://plasticker.de/Kunststoff_News_8925_Special_f09_ESC_Mo...

I'm not sure about the word "Blenden" in the following list:
"Sie druckt mit UV Farben (CMYK und zweimal weiß) auf einer Vielzahl von Kunststoffen, wie PVC, Acryl, Styrol, Polycarbonat, Fome-Cor-Platten, Glas, Skalen, ***Blenden***, Wellkunststoffen und vielem mehr."
The dictionary suggests all kinds of translations for "Blende", but I'm at a loss to know which would be the right one in this context. Can anyone help?

Discussion

Trudy Peters Nov 17, 2009:
I don't see any need to rearrange the sentence. The 'wie' before PVC may only apply to a few of the materials. Maybe a semicolon would help. But if it's good enough for the author, it should be good enough for us :-)
philgoddard Nov 16, 2009:
Whatever the answer is, the German will need rearranging, because it starts out as a list of plastics but then includes glass and things made of plastic.
Trudy Peters Nov 16, 2009:
Glossary entries There are a lot of gloss entries for 'Blende.'
I think it may be a plastic strip such as at the front of a dishwasher, describing the settings.

(plastic) strip

I think it may be a plastic strip such as at the front of a dishwasher or other appliance, describing the settings. Or maybe a faceplate of some sort.

Maybe this points you in the right direction.

3 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks, everyone, for your efforts. I'm giving the points to Trudy, as I found her comments the most helpful - thank you! I went for "panels" in the end, in an effort to keep it very general, as I was unable to get more detailed information from the client."
