Vesperinsel

There´s a picture of one here: http://www.rothaarsteig.de/index.php?id=202. But what would we call that in (British) English?

agree Erik Macki : This is very clear. Perhaps a dubious source, but Amazon.co.uk also uses "picnic sets" or "garden furniture (sets)" as well. http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/tg/browse/-/11714171

picknick areas

Vesper is a light, small meal.
I think they are talking about rest areas where you can enjoy your picknick.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Peter Barker : From the picture I think it's the furniture they're talking about

neutral Ulrike Kraemer : Take a look at the reference URL. It's a table and benches you can buy - obwohl ich ohne das Photo auch auf eine "picnic area" getippt hätte.

snack corner (+explanation)

At least to me, "Vesperinsel" meant nothing specific and without looking at the photo I would never have associated THAT with the expression.
So I think you might get away with a free translation and then provide an explanation what it really means ...

Picnic furniture

A fair selection of googles would confirm this as an option too.
There really isn't an English equivalent of a "Vesperinsel" as far as I am aware.
