Dear all,
This question has been asked before but just to be sure: Does CafeTran work nicely with Trados projects? It does with Star Transit but I'm not sure how to handle Trados projects.
Any comments / links to instructions?
Thanks a lot for your answer!

Just open the Trados package. That’s all. Easy as pie.

Interesting. Is the return package format the exact same? Or is it clear for the receiver that another CAT tool has been used?
I plan to buy a new computer this year and to upgrade Trados, but I like to keep my options open.

No receiver ever asked if I had used another CAT tool.
It's compatible, so YES | May 9 |
Hi Irene,
I've been using CafeTran for quite a long time and used it for projects native Trados and MemoQ and had no problems as CafeTran is fully compatible. I've tested it and I can confirm I had no problems with the vendors.
Hope this may be of help. 😊

Thanks to all of you!
Just one more question. Translating Transit texts with CafeTran is no problem at all, the only drawback being that preview doesn't work. So I have to upload my the translated file on Transit (web portal) from where I can download my translation again and get a preview. That's ok but it would be nicer if there was a direct preview option in CafeTran that works with Transit as well.
How is it with Trados projects? Does preview work?
Inline character formatting | May 10 |

Inline character formatting only. For me that’s enough. I always have the source document as a pdf. So I know what and where I am translating.

The source text is not the problem (I usually get a PDF or Word document along with all files) but I always like to see and read my translation as a whole text for editing.
sdlxliff files can only be exported with Trados.
