Every now and then I see posts pop up regarding word count. Usually they are about discrepancies in word count between different tools. Partially inspired by this great blog post by Paul Filkin, I created a word count analysis tool that allows you to easily see what word count gray areas might be causing the differences you see between tools. The tool is highly configurable so you can set it up to deal with any gray areas exactly how you like and get your "ideal word count".
