Berufsbeistandschaft as a department Since it refers specifically to the Swiss system, could you put Berufsbeistandschaft (Social Services Department) in brackets? The trouble is that such extensive services don't exist in e.g. the UK for funding reasons.

It can refer to 1) property and financial affairs and/or 2) personal welfare

The question is what kind of readership you are translating for as adult social care and the exact roles vary so much from country to country.

agree Adrian MM. : right syntactically for E&W https://eng.proz.com/kudoz/english-to-german/law-general/678... //This office is an appointment - previously called a Personal Receivership - made by the Court of Protection in E&W where it's not a sep. agency.

Oh yes, I misread it. Since it is a specifically Swiss system, would it be worth leaving it as Berufsbeistandschaft followed by a gloss in English in brackets? Will post further in the discussion
