http://www.disability-claims.net/repetitive_strain_injury_di...

Repetitive Strain Injury -- Also know as cumulative trauma disorder, occupational overuse syndrome, or work related upper limb disorder. Any of a loose group of conditions resulting from overuse of a tool, e.g. computer, guitar or knife, or other activity that requires repeated movements. It is a syndrome that affects muscles, tendons and nerves in the hands, arms and upper back .The medically accepted condition in which it occurs is when muscles in these areas are kept tense for very long periods of time, due to poor posture and/or repetitive motions.

disagree British Diana : Sorry but this does not fit the context at all. The mother does not have physical but mental or emotional strain and it is her "Unterbauch" anyway.

vital exhaustion / stress-induced fatigue

A person has bodily complaints not explicable by somatic disease, due to exhaustion, repetitive or chronic stress/strain or other emotional/mental issues....
Example sentence:

Vital exhaustion as a risk factor for adverse cardiac events (from the Atherosclerosis Risk In Communities [ARIC] study).

Acupuncture, combined with Chinese herbs, can be a very effective alternative to treat depression, anxiety, stress-induced fatigue and mood swings.
