no se cobra "por página" (¿Cuánto es eso... 200, 300 palabras?). Se cobra idealmente por caracteres, incluidos los espacios en blanco. Suerte.

You forgot to mention two crucial details, namely how legit is your contact, and whether they would be a publisher or a private individual.
If your contact is an established publisher, they normally have their own contracts and per-page/flat fees in place, based on which you can start negotiating, according to the specific topic of the book.
