I have been translating academic papers, dissertations and articles for the last ten years. I decided to focus on this translation business more professionally and am really interested in software translation, app translation, localization part of it.
How can I get started, which tools do I need, is it something that I can learn after I am 30?

I started my career like yours. I first collected experience with free or bona fide jobs. I learned a lot through Proz.com fora and online training.
