The Ireland Literature Exchange (Idirmhalartán Litríocht Éiriann), which runs a yearly programme of residential bursaries for professional translators working on publisher-commissioned translations of Irish literary works, has issued a call for applications from Chinese, Croatian, Bulgarian, Czech, Estonian, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Romanian, Slovak and Slovene translator-applicants. The Ireland Literature Exchange (Idirmhalartán Litríocht Éiriann), which runs a yearly programme of residential bursaries for professional translators working on publisher-commissioned translations of Irish literary works, has issued a call for applications from Chinese, Croatian, Bulgarian, Czech, Estonian, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Romanian, Slovak and Slovene translator-applicants. Bursaries are awarded for up to a period of 4 weeks in Ireland, for meeting authors, researching in Irish libraries, and immersion in the Irish idiom.

The deadline for Chinese applicants is 27 March 2006, and for the rest, 28 April 2006.
