Can anybody tell me what the main differences are between Abbyy FineReader 10 and Abbyy Transformer 3.0 (besides the price tag).

Transformer does not OCR Feb 24, 2011

I don't have Transformer, but from what I can see in their website, Transformer is more focused on PDF files and does NOT OCR, i.e. you cannot obtain the text of a scanned document. ABBYY FineReader was designed for OCR, and of course reads object-based PDF files (PDF files in which you can use the cursor to select text).

…merely a trimmed-down version of FineReader, namely, FR’s PDF recognition engine sold as a separate program.
