Hi colleagues:

I have been using DNS to translate in my laptop. I suppose the fed word are located in a file. Do you know the name or/and extension of this file?

I want to "export" it to another computerbecause it's easier than feeding again all..the words I have been feeding since March.

Is it possible to do what I want to do? Is it a chimeric dream?

Thak you so much.
ha v a nice day and life...

Some possibilities... Nov 27, 2006

Hi Yaotl,

I do not use the English version of Dragon 9.0, so I'm just trying to "translate" from my German one.

Click the "Help" button in the menu bar and then look for "User files" (should be something like that). You can "export/import user files" or simply "export user-defined (oryour "fed in") words. Just follow the instructions.

Hi Yaotl,

For the future it might be a good idea to save your user file into a directory of your choice. Therefore click on the menue "Naturally speaking" and select the 4th option (counting as well the greyed out 2nd one). It should read something like "User management" (?). Then select the profile you want to save. At the bottom you should see "Path to user files" (or similar) with a greyed out "< Standard >". Click "Browse" to indicate the directory in which you want to have your user files saved in future. This could be rather useful for backup purposes, but I think the method of exporting/importing the data is pretty good for using the files on a desktop and a laptop computer. (Here, as well, you can click the "Help" button and you will see a short description of that procedure and its advantages).

Hope I could at least help you find the instructions

Have a nice evening
Heike

Helke, Ich liebe dich Yes, I followed your instructions and I finally could gt the path.

Surprisingly, there was a file called "General_.txt" containing a list of words, which I mainly fed... but there were some other incomplete words. As I use DNS in Spanish, som examples were:

instalaci (instead of "instalación")
bacter (instead of "bacteria")

...so I think I have to edit that txt file.

Thank you my German-speaking colleague
