Crème anglaise
It is not cream/Sahne - it is made of egg yolk, sugar and (cream and) milk, and is better known under this name than as "Englische Creme".

Sahne ist es nicht! Wikipedia bezeichnet es als Englische Creme, das klingt ein wenig abgehoben, aber je nach Kontext auch passend

: Ich stimme für Vanillesauce. Die crème anglaise ist wesentlich dünner als der 'custard'. Creme bedeutet auf Deutsch dickeres, also so was wie Vanillepudding (und da kann dann schon mal Sahne dabei sein...:) )

Keinesfalls "Sahne". Es handelt sich hierbei um eine "echte Vanillesauce". Auch Creme Anglaise wird oft in Klammern dazugesetzt.
