Hi everyone,
I have just finished the (battery/electronic system for Japanese provider)
project with translation company in Europe for Japanese/English translation which ended to the disappointment.
They were extremely slow in proceeding the payment though they demanded me
to work on breakneck space sending inquiry mail for procedure at
every 10 mins. And their coordinator(s) sent me mails that they lost
files/invoice I sent and asked me to resend for several times without no apology.
I wonder if it is quite difficult for them to save/maintain all necessary files
though many translators might have been involved with this project and
also am not happy with their rude behavior to translators. Do they think
they don't need to behave politely to freelance translators?
I want to know how many of you were involved with this project
and if it rings the bell, please let me know. And please tell me how to protect
such payment delay. I appreciate you for any agency to protect overseas
freelance translators to avoid such case.
I found the reputation of this company is good at Proz.com, but actully it wasn't.

Similiar circumstances: language pair, translation subject, Japanese manufacturer, European (North European) outsourcer, many urgent requests....
I don't know whether is the same company or not, because the people I speak about were fairly polite = usual business standard level.

...But my project manager is very professional and I haven't had any problems. Perhaps the project has been spread over a few agencies?

Many, many agencies are involved

I received emails from at least 10 agencies about this project, so it is not being managed by one agency.

Thank you all.
Yes, Conejo and Gemma;
I believe several agencies/translators were committed to this project so I understand the confusion
among coordinators. Still though, it's the basic business must for them to save files/mails/invoices/
related documents.
And Cezar:
So files were split among different coordinators per company? In my case, several coordinators
(at least 3) replied to me and gave me different responses which put me to confusion..
