It's almost 18 weeks since the DipTrans exam took place. Have you received your exam results yet? I'm not based in the UK at the moment so will probably need to wait for a couple of weeks more. I'm just being curious if the results have been released yet.
Teresa Quinn Vereinigtes Königreich Local time: 19:26 Französisch > Englisch Dip Trans results | Apr 16, 2012 |
Hi, I think the results are normally out at the end of April. I sat the Dip Trans exam in London in 2011 and received my result on 30 April, so you shouldn't have too long to wait now. Good luck!

I am getting quite nervous
In Indonesia? | Apr 16, 2012 |
If you are receiving your results in Indonesia, I reckon you should not expect them before the 10th of May or so... Patience is your only option, so try to forget about the exam until you receive the results one day.

Thank you, Teresa. That's quite reassuring. I took the IoL DPSI exam a few years ago and had to wait ages for the results. Luckily, the exam centre rang me up to say I had passed. Not long to go now...
Staszku, na pewno zdałeś! Daj mi znać, jak dostaniesz wyniki. Będę wiedzieć, kiedy zacząć wypatrywać listonosza;-)

They are normally late, then they suddenly arrive in the post just when you've given up. Good luck everyone!

so am feeling fed up and would like to try and work out where I went wrong. Does anybody have a link to where the article was from? I only remember it being about the appointment of a new leader for a company specialising in small business loans ...
Thanks and hope you did better than I did,

Do not be discouraged about this. If you only failed one of the papers, you have a Letter of Credit, which is a very good result already. This is a very challenging exam and I have seen excellent translators try time and time again. Luck is also another component in the exam, since next time you might get a text on a topic you know more about. You also have a full year to prepare for the exam and eventually widen your experience and training in the paper you failed. Go for it!

Thank you, Tomas - it was tough but worth it for sure.
Maria, I wrote before I saw your post - don't be discouraged- taking three papers in one day is a tough process, much tougher than I thought it would be, especially because of the time constraints on the day. I can't help specifically as you had a different language pair - what I did take out of reading past papers and examiners' reports was how important it is to be fluent and not to be stilted. It sounds obvious I know, but I remember going back and re-reading everything a few times during the exams and making sure it all flowed naturally, often rewriting whole sentences completely. It's easy to write the first thing that comes into your head but it often isn't how it ends up!
I wish you all the best.

I've got 2 x DipTrans, and they both took two attempts. So if you are convinced it's for you, don't give up. The main thing is to identify your weaknesses and work on them so that next year you can be confident that you can do it.
Passed Eng>fr DipTrans | Apr 29, 2012 |
Hi,
I also received my results yesterday. I had expected to pass 2 out of 3 as I had found the business paper a little too financial for me but it turned out I passed all 3 so I am really, really pleased.
I did a preparation course through City University which I would recommend if anybody needs help preparing specifically for the DipTrans.
