Hi everyone,
I'm thinking of doing a distance learning course as part of my professional development and was just wondering if anyone knows of a comprehensive site that lists distance learning university courses for translators/interpreters. I'm particularly interested in courses in Europe.
I already have an MA in Translation & Interpreting and am looking for supplementary courses.
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Hi Ana,
I don't know if such a list exists, but I did look into this a little last year because I was interested in doing a course and ended up chosing WLS (based in Ireland) because there was some good feedback about it.
I wouldn't like to recommend it exactly, because I've only just started the course, but they have been very helpful and friendly so far.
Good luck,

I am doing a distance learning course for translating with the WLS in Dublin, they have their own certificate and also prepare you for the IOL translation diploma.
I have been very happy with the course and the results. | | | Sashenka Ljuben Mazedonien Local time: 20:23 Mitglied (2005) Englisch > Mazedonisch + ... Also interested in the same topic | Feb 7, 2006 |
Hi,
I am very glad that someone asked this question as I am also very interested in it. I come from Macedonia, a country which is not an EU member and my language combination is Macdonian/English. I was always wondering if there are any possibilities to enter into some kind of distance learning programme where my language combination would not be an impediment.
